Do you mean why was the west bound traffic backed to well past Hospital San Antonio?
If so, it's because they have put a new turn left signal light into Walmart at the intersection from hell for those of us coming from the east. It is not yet functional and the normal green light for going straight through is off to the right. Of course, a LANE for turning left would have been a great improvement too. Stay tuned.
