Vigilante Justice

Was suggested by CanuckBob in another thread and there have been a few isolated examples reported in various areas. To me, it would be encouraging to hear about more of the Mexican citizens taking positive action in dealing with these goons. Granted there is a "firepower issue" but positive things can be accomplished.

It isn't so much what was said in the article that caught my attention but rather the fact that this was obviously a fairly sizable shootout that happened in Jerez (about 25km from Zacatecas). We have a friend who splits her time between Santa Fe, NM and Jerez and other parts of Mexico. So I sent her the article and asked what she knew about this event. After some checking, she sent me the following:
"Violeta heard about this from Chino (Ta-Taco) He said this was the result of a heated verbal exchange between the guy who owns the yellow house and a Zeta. The Zeta said,,,I'm going to find your house and mess with you. The Yellow house guy said...bring it on and he then invited several friends over to be ready. He had a bunch of guns. The Zetas came and shot the place up, but 4 of them ended up dead...Yellow house gang had no killed or wounded...Welcome to Sarajevo! Isolated event."

A couple of days later, BORDERLAND BEAT published the following report: http://www.borderlandbeat.com/2012/05/8-bad-guys-die-in-zacatecas.html
They don't acknowledge the deaths of the four Zetas but I would tend to believe her version since I know that she is well connected to the Mexican community and has been for many years.

Just one positive example of a local citizen getting fed up with what has become the norm!

I believe self defense has always been legal as long as your weapon is properly registered. Unfortunately I was suggesting more of an offensive tactic which is probably not quite as legal.......jajaja.

In the example that was provided, the owner of the yellow house appears to have taken that route by rounding up a bunch of friends with weapons.

Well in military terms it is quite the opposite.......

Yeah but he won't always have his pals with him and he won't be carrying a gun when he leaves the house. Bad idea IMO. They are attacking and killing heavily armed law enforcement that travel together in numbers. All this guy did was put a bull's eye on his back.

Best for him to get out of Dodge........for sure.

He also took off for Los Angeles right after this event.
