So far, we have 12 - 14 students for our photography class (at the Chapala Cultural Center). We may have to start a second class, following the first one, so that we have plenty of time to give hands on instruction to all students. Class starts Thursday, July 8th, 1 - 2:30. Photography Class
New Photography Class starting Thursday, July 8th from 1 – 2:30 p.m.

This is a popular 5 week course taught by professional photographers Jill Flyer and Luis Mancera McCormick, co-owners of Galeria Quattro in Ajijic. Their work is shown here at Lakeside and in other areas of Mexico, as well as in the United States.

Material covered in the classes includes:
How to operate your camera and all its options
A history of photography via a slide show
Understanding of how cameras work via apertures and shutters
How to use manual controls on a camera (most cameras have override manual controls). When to use your automatic settings and when to use manual controls.
How to shoot a moving subject
Discussion of lenses and megapixels
Compositional exercises in the field
Discussions of lighting, indoor and out, & the use of tripods
Students are given specific assignments "in the field" and there are always two instructors to give advice and hands-on instruction. Later, each person's work is projected on a screen, so that students can all learn from each other and the goal is to provide constructive commentary to each person's work. It´s a fun class and a fun way to learn photography.

Classes are taught at the Cultural Center in Chapala (Old Train Station), starting Thursday, July 8th from 1 – 2:30 p.m. The cost is $500 pesos for the entire 5 week session. Classes are taught in Spanish and in English. Minimum of 5 students is necessary to hold a class.

Later this summer, Jill and Luis will follow up this class with a class in Photoshop. For more information on either class, contact Jill at: fotoflyer2003@yahoo.com or at 766-3025.
Classes are taught in Spanish and in English.

Please contact us if you might be interested in a future class.
