Sirens

Lots of sirens up and down the highway in La Canacinta. That's a fact. Don't know what it means.

I'm in Los Arroyos near La Canacinta and haven't heard one. Are we supposed to panic because we hear sirens? Could be a serious auto accident, although I hope not.

John. If you read her post Chicken Little did not say you should panic...neither did she even speculate on what the sirens were about. You're the one guessing. If you can't hear them...either you're farther away than she is...or you forgot your hearing aid. I know the lady and she doesn't bullshit and she doesn't panic.

Yes, I heard them go by on the carretera here in SAT. Sounded like one of them was the ambulance. Just saw a truck of Chapala's finest cruising nonchalantly through SAT.

I don't wear a hearing aid and I have perfect hearing. We are about 1/2 mile or less from La Canacinta.

At least one was an ambulance. It passed me just east of SAT.

Chicken Little: Am in the general area of La Canacinta and I heard the sirens also....alas, the three thousand singing cicadas in my garden made it difficult to tell which direction they were going!....

Yes, the cicadas are louder than even cohetes! I think I heard them either 3 or 4 times. I am always concerned because some folks have been hit by cars with serious injuries along the highway here and also a truck hit a horse not long ago. Just because there are sirens does not mean another slaughter. And John, FYI, the last time I panicked was in 1971.

I am in Rancho del Oro. I admit to having hearing loss in one ear. I heard them between 11:20 or so and noon. I took a shower at noon so didn't hear them after that. They were going east to West. Haven't had a drink yet so I am pretty sure I heard what I heard

John should be able to panic if he wants to, even though the OP didn't order it to be done.

I misunderstood what you were trying to say. You know lots of people get edgy when they hear sirens, thinking the worst.

Can't remember a siren that was coming to aannounce that I had won the Lottery!
