Could it be?
Walking past the police station this morning I was greeted with hola's and a handshake. It seemed like a little celebration was going on. The cops have been more relaxed the past few days and not at all jumpy like during the narco scare.
My barber was all smiles when asked how it was going downtown. He said Chapala was returning to normal and everyone was happy.
Our maintenance man, Ricardo, who's ancestors lakeside predate the ice age, quietly and with a nod declared the narco business finished.
Alex, a young builder who does occasional work for us said his barrio back to normal, everyone is out at night and no problemos.
Mary, our house keeper, now let's her children walk the streets unescorted.
This coming from a guy who called got the Dot.com crash wrong, every stock he ever touched wrong, lost every bet at a race track and the only reason still alive today is God really does look after fools. But hope still springs eternal.

Too funny RoofBob,
Getting the same feedback from my staff.
Everybody is taking a much deserved breather right now. Hopefully it continues after Dec 1 and longer. For the people.
Re: Could it be?
At least it's a breather. I doubt the narco stuff is finished but our little corner of the world does have a less nervous feel about it these days.

Re: Could it be?
Could this possibly have anything to do with the outcome of the presidential election? Or is it just a timely coincidence? chico

Re: Could it be?
A while back our maintenance guy said it would stop after the elections. He seems pretty plugged in but I dunno.

Well, the taggers are back on the streets. Another sign of normalcy.
