Swarm 6 Angelica's Bistro

Had a nice chat with Pablo and Angelica this morning. What works best for them would be to have our swarm:

August 6 is a Monday. Did you mean August 9? I can't make it the 9th since that's the LCS bus trip to Andares where I can get my PF Chang's fix. Have the Pesto Crudo with Pappardelle for me.

Since there are no good Chinese restaurants here, I guess if you have to resort to overpriced PF Chang's, it's different strokes for different folks. Ate at the one in CA, very disappointing. $ 39.95 for a combination dinner.

Well, John since I live in a slum I can afford PF Chang's by not blowing all my money on a house.

I imagine there are people who don't go to the Swarms because they are ashamed or embarrassed to me people face-to-face to whom they've been rude or just plain nasty.

Also, those of us who have been mostly ignored on previous swarms.

Or, people who are concerned that people will be as nasty in person as they are on this board.

Gamina, I don't know why some people don't attend the swarm but Candace and I would love to meet you and everyone else who attends. It's the perfect opportunity and venue but with so many people and seating being limited it's virtually impossible to mingle. With that in mind we would like to host an 'after-swarm meet and greet'. So this Thursday at Angelina's, after the lunch breaks up, we'll commandeer a fresh table and hope to meet anyone and everyone who would like to stay and chat. Hope to see you then, RB&C.

Dear we are very civilized at these events. Probably the most talked about member here came to one
of the parties and everything was fine. But it is also OK if folks don't want to meet each other for any
reason.

Why? They all sound like reasonable reasons to me and I’m sure there are plenty more.

Brigitte: Those reasons I mentioned for not attending have been voiced to me by others. I've assured people that the nasty ones on the forum won't necessarily been nasty in person--it's much easier to be rude when one is virtually anonymous. Once people get to know each other, the nastiness is usually reduced--a good reason to get together.

Just because you don't feel that way, doesn't mean that other's don't.

I would like to attend one of the swarms but unfortunately I have a big problem eating solid food. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy (head and neck) have left me with the inability to eat more than about seven bites of solid food a day. I have had this problem for almost 2 years and have been existing on liquid foods.

My mother in Oregon use to tell her to children: "Now, eat everything on your plate.". So I hate to throw food away.

Fortunately, I can still drink, and plan to attend the next "Bored Meeting". I went to the last one and had a good time. I met several of the regular posters to this board at the party. I saw John there and believe it or not he doesn't look like a monster.

Well, Dawg will not be at the swarm since I am not a swarm-type guy but I must say, Angelica´s special salad with shrimp is outstanding and certainly one of the best if not the best salad one will find at Lakeside. It´s so good I can never bring myself to order anything else so I have no idea how good other items on the menu may be. This restaurant or, at least, its salad is a great local asset.
