You lived in Leadville? We vacationed in Leadville, a very long time ago, and I didn't meet Molly Brown. I remember visiting a mine, horseback riding and fishing(didn't catch a thing) until the mosquitos swarmed around us. We ran as fast as our legs could carry us before they swallowed us whole! You are absolutely correct but I try and shield my eyes to avoid the painful reality.
Anybody ever calculate how much propane you use when cooking the beans for an extended period of time? My kitchen doesn't get hot either. Some things are just worth it to me. Everybody has different priorities.

Divide, Coloado is where we are from. We certainly know where all of these other places are and have been through Leadville many times. We lived in Hartsel for a while (don't laugh). We were totally self contained (the house I mean), and loved that we didn't have utilities to pay except propane. Even had a solar telephone with internet which I have to say was faster than what we have here.

Divide/Hartsel....I believe the last Anglican priest, Father Michael (before Father Winston), was from somewhere right in that area before he came to Chapala. He is now up in Santa Fe, NM.
We used to talk about the old back road from Victor down to Cañon City, I think it was the Phantom Canyon Road and how beautiful a drive it was...when open, about 3 months of the year. But that was 40 years ago.

You probably couldn't fill a telephone booth with people from Hartsel around here. LOL

I have to admit that I cannot duplicate Bushs baked beans and I have tried. About once a year, I just have to have some.......

There's Phantom Canyon Road and then Shelf Road that both go to Cañon City. I was on Shelf Road once and that was twice too many times. It has snowed there a couple of days ago. HaHaHaHaHaHa.
