Doña Lola Empty Doña Lola

Haven't been there in years, but stopped by today. Could not believe I had forgotten how delicious the sopa Azteca is; they really make effective use of the (ancho) chilis (which are not hot) and other ingredients. At $22 pesos for a large bowl, I will not forget again.

It's a great place to eat and the prices are such that you wonder how they've stayed in business all these years. Breakfasts and comidas are excellent.

It's across from the Waffle House on the west end of Ajijic on the carretera.

I guess Lola and Salvador have either moved or left it in the hands of others; used to see them there every day back when.

Love this place. Waiters have been there longer than me and that is eight years. Great food, served quickly and wonderful service. I love their Western Omelet, as it is never the same and always a delicious surprise. Mexican salsa, Guacamole and Pozole with all of the condiments to go everyday for a fair price, half liter or liter. Good for taking to parties if you haven't time to make something. Also, menudo everyday. Not tried it as I am not a menudo fan. Went last week and waved and smiled to both Dona Lola and Salvador.
