PREVIOUSLY ON "GETTING AN AUTO INSURANCE POLICY..."

When my policy came for renewal with Parker, the price, about $3,000 had jumped by $1,000 from the previous policy.

I decided to search for a better deal.

Some calls and emails to various agents were never responded to so I posted to this board.

I checked with Claude Bellon and he came back with a price of over $3,500 with the $3,000,000 liability limit.

I told him this was higher than I had been quoted before and he said he would resubmit it to the company. I wasn't clear on that one.

A couple of days later, the came back with a quote of $2,985 but that dropped the liability to $1,500,000. I asked if that was in compliance with the law.

I went back to Q&A across from Walmart, and got a renewal quote of $2,386.93 with $3,000,000 liability. My prior (2012) policy was at $2,083.62.

I stuck with Q&A.

I'm wondering if some agents/brokers add to the bill for their services i an amount they feel the client will accept.
