I am looking for some twine type netting to put over my turtle pond to keep the critters out. Anyone know who sells this?

CB:

Not sure about Home Depot in Mexico but they are showing the following up here:
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/Search?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&keyword=pond+netting&Ns=None&Ntpr=1&Ntpc=1&selectedCatgry=Search+All

A comment from previous experience with a pond - our first net was a cotton/poly blend and it became "funky" quite quickly. Once we found a 100% synthetic net, maintenance was far easier.

What critters are you worried about? Nylon netting won't stop many creatures I can think of.

No mosquito netting is way too fine. I want something with about 1 inch squares.
I am looking to mainly keep cats out. The twine type netting should be plenty string enough for that.

I have seen the galvanized netting, much heavier than 'chicken wire' but not as heavy as stucco mesh. I don't know a stucco store but I think the hardware store besides Farmicia Guadlajara Ajijic has it. In Canada we call it 'hardware cloth'. For a nice finish, get a spray can of galvanized primer, and a can of black (gloss would be easier to clean).

why not just plain chicken wire? it won't need maintenance and puddy tats can't break it. should be able to get it anywhere-no?
and ya kin grow vines or air plants on it ta make it look purdy.

We just put a net over the north fish pond at LCS to keep the birds out. Ask
there.

Use some really fine metal or plastic mesh and then the cat/cats can have their very own trampoline over the water!

Jara is a great hardware store just west of Telmex in Ajijic. Everybody there is really helpful, and the woman there speaks perfect (California) English which can be helpful since the names of hardware things are almost never what you think they are going to be. They have rolls of different metal mesh there I'm pretty sure.

Jajajaja......that would be awesome. I would have to buy "feeder cats" for it.

Anywho.....once mine get larger then I won't have to worry about it. Another year or so.
