Saturday Futbol

Just received a call from Givovanni (the coach).

The boys will be playing at 12:00 Saturday at Cruz Azul field (enter off Revolucion just south of the caraterra).

Lets get out and support the Inside Lakeside team.

If anyone is interested, there is also a game at 3pm for the ponies (Under 13) at the field near six corners (it is on the lakeshore). Take any road west of six corners that goes down to the lake, and you can't miss it. You can also just see it from the western most end of the malecon.

Two roads lead to the Tecaluta field in six corners. One is Flores Magon and the other is Francisco Villa. They are the 1st and 2nd streets past the tree in seis esquinas heading west.

I tried to base the design on the pentagonal panels on a soccer ball - but I am not sure if I have just made it impossible to read. Either the kids like it, or they are being polite. Anyway, Shannon asked if it should be on the front or the back - I had no idea, so I asked the kids to state their preference. Usually when I ask a question I get answers like 'k chido' and 'si pues nimodo q no!!!!' so with the anticipation that I might not get a result, does anyone have an opinion?

Without commenting on the design, DEFINITELY the FRONT of the shirt!!! That's where it always is.

Perhaps it should read "Campeones 2013."

my chivas 2006 champ shirt has CAMPEON at the top of the front of the shirt in caps. year,etc. underneath

the wording on the shirt was given to me by Giovanni (escuela) and Rafael ((patronato). I don't think the design works as intended - but I wouldn't have known without trying. I do welcome comments and criticism - I can take it. It is impossible to get an opinion from the kids as they will approve anything, mainly out of politeness and the inability to give direct criticism.
I initially wanted to incorporate the Ajijic 'fish', but it is a registered trademark. Are there any other symbols that might incorporate both Ajijic and football?

Maybe the kids would like to design a logo, or at least come up with an idea for one.

They must just be so appreciative for the support.

The design had to be done by today so I had to choose a design that I could finish in time, offended the fewest people and that the kids liked - although the kids would appreciate anything and would tell me everything is great.
This is not the official 'escudo' - just a design to acknowledge that they won the championship this year.

My apologies that it is so big - wasn't sure how to limit the size.

Thank you, Cheena. For REAL art check out the latest page on the Union Ajijic Facebook page. Local artist Liz Skelsey graciously donated the profits from all the sale of her art to the football team. There are photos on the FB page showing the kids going to thank them, and Giovanni and BeBe accepting the donation. If you are looking for great art at incredibly low prices that support the team, go by Liz's studio. It is located next to Tom's Bar on Constitucion. Usually the roll-door of the garage is up and she paints right by the sidewalk. If you do pass by and she is there, make sure and thank her for her support.

So does anyone know when and where the big playoff game is on Saturday?

This is the information I know so far, and like everything else, is subject to change.
The minis and the ponies (the little kids leagues) have games in the morning at Cruz Azul.
The 'juvenil' team will be playing their playoff game at the lower field (corner of Revolucion and Constucion) - just further down Revolucion on the other side of Lienzo Charro. They will also be awarded their championship trophies before the game. As far as I can understand, there is just going to be one playoff game against Chivitas. They have played against them twice during the season, both games ending in a draw and we won on penalties.
