Since I know nothing about football, I had to read up on these teams before deciding who I will cheer for on Sunday in between the commercials. What better source of information on American football than the Guardian where I found what I thought would be a snooty Brit sportswriter named (I am not making this up) Hunter Felt. I hit the jackpot. This is informative and hilarious at the same time. And, I did make my decision: I am rooting for the Seahawks.

TFF Marv! Super bowl brings out the fans. Always amazed at the number of people pulling for the favorite. This year appears to be status quo. But, when you think about it....when fishing, who roots for the fish? scratch

I'm rooting for Denver because I'm a big Manning fan BUT that Seattle pass rush and pass defense is going to be hard for Denver to handle. Manning doesn't have a lot of mobility.

I don't think Seattle is going to give up much on the ground either.

IMHO the whole game is going to come down to Denver's offensive line/pass protection. If they can protect Manning, the Denver offense is seriously superior to that of Seattle.

It could be a great game or it could be a blowout if Seattle's defense shuts Manning down.

Not only was Pat Bowlen astute enough to purchase a real football team but in 30 years, he has provided the team with the support necessary to make it one of the most successful franchises with this their 7th trip to the Super Bowl. Pat is also very respected by the other owners and is or has sat on many important owner's groups (committees) that direct the NFL.

As for who is favored - current Vegas odds are Denver by 2. Twitter conducted a huge poll today and the Seahawks were picked and thus the Empire State Building was lit in blue and green lights tonight.

No way Pescador could translate that quote, when even Manning won't give a straight answer. It means something different everytime he calls it.
I see question marks, like halos, over the heads of the offensive linemen at the line of scrimmage. lol!

All right, I'll give a whirl at a translation. I'm assuming " set hut Omaha" has to do with Peyton Manning being all about the passing game, and being historically very, very good at it. (Seattle's pass defense is pretty extraordinary though, which may tell the tale...or not. Anything is possible.) As to the "No 12th man this game!" quote....that is in reference to the Football Stadium in Seattle. Teams field 11 players per side. the "12th man" is the crowd/noise factor. The Seattle stadium, by whatever current corporate sponsor it's named for, is notoriously loud and has been decibel-metered to be the loudest in the NFL. So it can tend to give the home team an advantage.

But that's not where this game is being played. It's in Jersey. So - YAY! - anything could happen. Hoping for an exciting game, but I'm rooting for Seattle. Go Hens.

Rosa...you are about as clear as Manning in your translation/explanation.

Absolutely correct Flamingo! I have been a Bronco fan since 1967 when they drafted Floyd Little out of Syracuse University and I was attending the University of Denver. We sure put up with way too many years of mediocre teams with the prior ownership.
