The $ Exchange Rate

Wether you are a Canuck or a Yank the current exchange rate is treating you kindly. That's the good news. For our Mexican friends - not so good. Anybody noticed creeping price increases locally - especially in restos ? Restowise I would expect to see more "whiteout" on menus and new pricing. Just curious.

Are we seeing Peso pressure or normal Mexican inflation?? I am not sure.

I was just checking the predictions for the exchange rate and according to that no one expected it to reach over 17 p/USd, close but not over. Looks as if they are expecting 16.5 over the next couple of months then decreasing to lower then 16 after that.

With Canada and Mexico being the number one and number two exporters importers of US goods I would expect to see the US Govt take steps to either lower their dollar or bolster the CDN and MXN currencies since both are down substantially against the USD.

Just talked to Spencer at S&S this morning.

He expects new car prices at the Dealerships to increase 3 to 5 % this month.....even the 2015's on the lots.

Somebody is taking advantage of the falling peso.
