Bugs! Empty Bugs!

Post by toedippers Thu Feb 11, 2016 11:55 pm

NOB we have a termite service that baits traps and another that comes in the house every month or two and sprays for anything that crawls.
We also have someone that sprays the yard for that matter.

Do you all do the same thing down here?

I thought my wife had brought home new chihuahua puppies until I realized it was really cucarachas crawling around the new place.

Any recommendations for an exterminator service (if they exist) would be appreciated.

thanks

Bugs! Empty cucarachas are not the worst...

Post by rvanparys Fri Feb 12, 2016 3:52 am

As a newcomer to Ajijic and from the Pacific Northwest, we had little experience with the type of insects and crawlies that one encounters locally. We had a few scorpions and cockroaches that have now passed over the rainbow bridge... That said I normally wear loafers when navigating the house after dark and watch where I put my hands in the garden...

Our gardner sprays Home Defence weekly which seems to keep the critters at bay. It is available locally (Walmart) and at HD in Guad... You might give it a try...

Home Defense works well. We supplement with FumiTech for quarterly, full-home spraying with no ill effects on our animals. They spray inside and out for a set fee based on house size. Reasonable, been using them for 5 years.

FumiTech...can you please give phone number and location.
I haven't been satisfied with the "casual" people I've used, who claim to be "professionals"
Gracias.

Unless it's really obvious you might try to find where they are coming from. We have a drain on our patio and a thingy inside of it broke which caused erosion and created a little cave under the patio. There was a colony of them living in there.
