How often should I back-flush my water system? Empty How often should I back-flush my water system?

I never had one of these (sand filled?) tanks that reduces turbidity in the water when I lived NOB. It's a manual system that the garden seems to activate at random times.

What would be a good time cycle to use? Every week, month...?

The only sand filter I have is for my swimming pool and I backwash it about once per month.
