Converting to HTTPS
I am converting the site to HTTPS which is a secured protocol. There shouldn't be any affects other than the web address will be HTTPS://insidelake.com instead of HTTP://insidelake.com. The forum host has recommended I do this.
Re: Converting to HTTPS
OK, it is done. Everything on here is encrypted now and depending on your browser it should display a "secure" label in your address bar.

Re: Converting to HTTPS
You can certainly change your bookmarks, but the site will redirect automatically. It's not a different "site": it's just a different protocol.

Re: Converting to HTTPS
My bookmark in IE worked find. It automatically went to HTTPS.
Now, the question is, why would a computer tech use IE instead of other, more secure browsers?
I have four different browsers and do certain things on each browser. All my Lake Chapala stuff is on IE, separate from the other browsers. As long as I do not do mail, Facebook, Googling, etc. I am quite safe.
BTW, I am now RETIRED! My wife and I are in the process of moving to Jacksonville, FL. We should be moved in by April 1. I can get round trip tickets from MIA to GDL for $300 round trip on Volaris. I used to pay $650 to $700 round trip using other airlines. Quite a savings. We will be back in Lake Chapala for Aug-Sept.

Congratulations on your retirement!
Say, Jacksonville is clear on the other side of the state from Miami.... 350 miles away. How do you get to Miami for that good Volaris flight?

Unless you're willing to overpay, buy food to take w/you. Volaaris gives you NOTHING other than a small cup of water, if you ask for it, to take pills.

This, of course, is why they are called a ‘no frills budget airline’. No different than a handful of other airlines that operate in that spectrum of the marketplace. It’s not 1995 anymore.

OK. We get a rental car ($45 one way, unlimited miles), leave it at the airport and hop on the plane. Do not have to pay for long term parking this way.
Do not worry, we will have our own snacks and probably get an over priced drink at the airport to take aboard. I expect the plane to be a sardine can, but my wife and I are not large people, so we should be OK. I hope at least one flight attendant speaks English!

Re: Converting to HTTPS
I fly Volaris Denver to Guadalajara on average a couple of times a year. It’s not a sardine can at all but then it’s not First Class either. I predict that you and your wife will do just fine. My experience is that there aren’t often (ever?) any English speaking attendants but I have always found them very friendly and professional.

Re: Converting to HTTPS
That is discouraging. We could use the help filling out the visa application. It is always in Spanish.

Re: Converting to HTTPS
Don't you have a Spanish/English dictionary? Or a translation app on your phone? Take some classes, they speak Spanish in this country.
Congratulations on your retirement.

Re: Converting to HTTPS
The current FMM visa application has all the ‘boxes’ in both Spanish and English, such as: Hombre/First Name, Pais de Residencia/Country of Residence, Fecha de Nancimiento/Date of Birth. etc etc etc. You should have no problem filling out that form... other than maybe needing a good pair of reading glasses.

Re: Converting to HTTPS
Well, I've done it twice without the English/Spanish dictionary. So, it may only be an issue in my imagination.
