I need a woman

or maybe a man to answer a question. I am serious here. I can't ask my wife because she doesn't like when I start a sentence with "Why?"

Maid comes at 1000. My wife starts at 0830 to clear and clean the counters, floor, etc.

Why do you think my wife does this?

My wife does the same. When I ask her, she says “I don’t want her to tell everyone we’re so messy”.

Many people do this for a couple of reasons. One, we put away the things that we don't want the maid to see or touch, and two, we don't want other people to think we're messy!

Then get rid of the maid and clean it yourself??

The only thing I do is make sure things are put back where they belong, so that the maid has less stuff to clean around. The main things that I want my maid to do is clean the bathroom and sweep and mop floors. Those are jobs that I don't want to do anymore....getting too old and stiff.

I have to hide the candy and chocolate because she’ll eat it. I put it in the oven because she hates to clean it and never opens it. I wash the sheets and dump them on the bed, ready for her to make it up. Then I leave the house. I don’t clean before she comes and have too much clutter which she tries valiantly to organize. Bless her.

I can't stand to watch someone work without pitching in. As if I were some emperor.

Frankly, I'd rather be up to doing the harder housework. The cleaners leave something to be desired. Corners don't exist, for instance.
However, I'm beginning to understand the old craze for wall to wall carpeting: hides the dirt. Tile reveals all.

Me too. And I can't care about corners, life is too short.

Oh don't get me wrong. We have a maid but don't clean up before her......lol.

I put away the stuff I don't want her to move around so I can't find it and it makes it easier for her to clean when it is tidy. Dear husband refuses to put his stuff away and then complains all week because he can't find anything. But I certainly don't clean the floors.
