who to call for wildfires? Empty who to call for wildfires?

I have a friend who lives near some open land close to the libramiento. Recently my friend has called the bomberos about wildfires on the open land, and the bomberos answered the phone but never showed up. (Fortunately the wildfires burned themselves out!) What's the problem? The bomberos did not say anything about it not being in their jurisdiction.

Maybe they new the fire would go out ...One time I called them because there was a fire at the back of my neighbor´s house. The flames wer taller than his house and I could ee them from my house..they never showed up either.. the wind turned and the fire died out.. pure luck..

We had a large fire on the lot on the other side of our wall. The bomberos came but did not have a water supply and used our water to beat back the fire... They had back packs but no real way of extinguishing the fire...

The same thing happened to me although it wasn't me that called the Bomberos, it was my neighbours. I was napping and the dogs woke me up barking at the phone and the banging on the door.
It was started by kids playing with firecrackers IN THE DRY SEASON. Do ya think that Smoky the Bear could make an appearance in the schools to educate the kids who will then educate the parents?
Anyway, very small truck with very little water arrived. NOW, I have a small pass through pump and a hose coiled on the roof. Easy connection with access to my 6,000 litre aljibe which is always at the ready since it's my emergency water.
Mexico has a way of teaching people to become very self sufficient.
