New flights from GDL

I understand that there will soon be direct flights to Europe from GDL yet they still don't have any to  Canada. WTF is with that??? One would think there is the same or more demand for Canada than Europe from GDL.

There is a lot that goes into airline scheduling. As you note. demand is one important factor, but so is the type of fleet, the competition, the novelty of the route, and especially gate openings at the airport.

Perhaps Aeromexico, which partners with Air France and Delta (sometimes), got a good deal on a gate at CDG or elsewhere, in exchange for one here. Likewise, Canadian airports may not have been offering anything. Or AM has extra long-haul capacity, while N. Am routes are short/medium routes/planes. Or they saw an opening on price to Europe, while the market to Canada is pretty price competitive already.

Anyway, glad to see more international options, especially onew which avoid CDMX or the States.

a direct flight to and from Europe would be great for me ...then we have direct flight to Chiapas.. could not ask for more..

I was playing around on Google Flights a few days ago and there were some really great business class flight prices to Europe from GDL.

where did they stop ? The US?
I fly Mexico (CDMX) Paris non stop and like that. I never go through the US anymore although it is cheaper... I just can't stomach the immigration people so not going via the US would be what I would take.

Brigitte, I'm not finding any direct flights from GDL to CDG with Aeromexico. They all have a layover of from 1 to 4 hours in Mexico City.
Perhaps it's more convenient to only have one ticket but, at best, I find it to be false advertising.

She is saying she is flying nonstop from cdmx (Mexico City). The nonstop flight gdl-cdg is supposed to be announced this december. Then we will know about the starting date.

I was looking for flights in late January. Time will tell I guess.

GDL CDG would be wonderful for my family when they visit.. Tight now I go to Mexico and spend the night so it gives me time to see friends there so it is not bad..

Mr. Google makes it so easy for us dummies who don't know what airport CDG stands for.

Now if I saw MUC, I would know that this stands for the München Flughafen . Why? Because I was stationed in the US Army in Oberammergau and later lived there for a total of 8 or so years.
