Our Food Supply

Got this last night from my friend the food importer.

"Incidentally, the supply chain between GDL and Chapala is moving very slow with check points  both directions - alcohol checks going to GDL now in addition to the health check points coming into Chapala. Coming from GDL to Chapala can be 3 hours trying to get food and supplies in and going to GDL for food and supplies now can be 4+ hours leaving from Chapala. It’s not clear if this will continue for some time or what will happen next. Stay tuned."

It is a good idea that they are screening DUI during the day. I can' t count how many times I have stopped at the now Oxxo on the start of the carretara, only to see delivery truck drivers buy two large cans of beer, and crack one before starting back to Guadalajara. I admit I was also buying beer, in the old days, but I live just around the corner.

Our Costco delivery kids are experiencing 30 minute waits on the highways... saying the 3 and 4 hour waits are on the weekends.

A neighbour took 4 hours to get to the airport because of the filter check at Santa Rosa.
