A question: For those over 60, etc, is it still okay to leave home and get necessary groceries and drugs? ( This of course means social distancing and mask wearing while shopping.)

Good question, because the wording suggests under no circumstances will anyone over 60 be allowed out of their homes.

Uh oh. . .what about going to the ATM to get pesos! To pay rent? To pay for delivered food. To pay cfe and tm . . .

OR that BOTH residents in one location could be over 60. DUH...

I did not read that it was talking about essential activities. Getting groceries and getting money from the bank are essential. Aren't they?

May have to choose a friend or someone to go to the ATM who is under 60, give them your PIN and card. heh

What do you suggest for someone who is 74 and has advanced staged lung cancer and is now scheduled to to go Guadalajara for radiation treatments. What are we supposed to do? I'm freaking out...

Thank you Spencer for the information and translation. I’m curious to see how they are going to enforce this over 60 thing. They say it’s the law if you operate a motor vehicle you must have a valid license and insurance, and well...we all know how that goes here.

Please read the following which clarifies terms and also the limits on what the government can do to enforce, while legally it may be difficult for the authorities to act, you would not want to place your fellow man at risk nor fight with the police who could jail or fine you first causing you grief and money only to be later exonerated.

Spencer how does that apply to essentials such as money and food for a fairly large population of people over 60. If it is necessary to go to the bank for money or to get food are we risking going to jail.

Perhaps it is time to rethink your shopping habits. Driving to Walmart to do your grocery shopping may no longer be a reasonable (or legal) option. Think local. Get to know your neighborhood grocer. Learn to buy your eggs by the kilo.

And what does that have to do with the bank? I do all of the above?
