O-Ring lubrication

Is there any location in Chapala or Ajijic that sell o-ring lube?

I haven't had any luck so far. Even tried Autozone.

That's a head-scratcher. It's such a basic automotive tool. I'd suggest one of the washer/dryer repair shops in Riberas.

I can give it a try, however some repair people think that Vaseline can also be used. I had to stop a plumber from using it.

Any silicon based lubricant should be fine. I would look again at Autozone for that.

Had 2 people who work there not able to find anything, but I agree I would have expected to find something.

I've definitely seen the silicon based lube you squirt in locks there.

White lithium grease would also work. Should be small tubes. Any petroleum product will weaken the rubber of the o ring. But then again you are probaby not rebuilding the space shuttle.

Not all O rings are made of rubber so, if you know what yours are made of, there are many more options for lubrication. When I was taking apart photometers in the lab, I always used vaseline to lube the O's. No problems.
