Covid 19 Boosters ???

Hello All. I haven't heard anything about a new round of Covid boosters becoming available locally. Has anybody else?

Nope. And you can be sure I would post if they were available. Besides checking the Covid stats daily, I also check the Lake Chapala Covid 19 group daily for updates.

Wow. Thanks. Yes, it's definitely on the rise again. And I hear that in the US, boosters are available but people just can't be bothered. Ugh.

Reporter printed only vaccine available in México is Cuban Abdala vaccine. Approved by México but not World Health Organization.

Cuba has some pretty high standards of medical care and doctors and scientists. This vaccine seems to have a high efficacy rate, much higher than the Chinese vaxes Mexico seemed to be mostly offering. WHO approval isn't something I'd care about- the scientific studies and peer reviews are more important to me.

Do you mean whether they are allowing people to get them only if they haven't had an original vaccine, rather than letting people get them as boosters?

There is no difference between a shot you get as the first and second dose and what is given as a booster. Except of course if it's a different brand or is the beefed up bivalent vaccines that were developed to work better for Omicron.

I received an email from Medicare today about vaccinations. If you have optional Part D then any future vaccinations are free. Something to think about if you are an American. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. My Part D is about the cheapest you can get at $7/month but if that will provide future vacs for free I am ok with that.
