EL RINCON di GIOVANNI Restaurant Review Empty EL RINCON di GIOVANNI Restaurant Review

Three of us ate at Giovanni's (El Rincon di Giovanni) tonight. We were there at 6 PM. Two ordered a Margarita. It is 2 for 1 drinks from 5 PM to 8 PM. Drinks were good. Three of us ordered the Carrot and Tomato Cream soup, a very large bowl for 40 pesos. They brought a grilled bread to the table, also good and kept it replenished. We ordered our meals. One ordered Shrimp with 4 cheeses, another ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan with Spinach, a very large portion. The Shrimp and Eggplant dish came with a choice of spaghetti or linguine with whatever sauce you wanted (marinara or bolognese) or veggies.

The Spaghetti Carbonara was not made in the traditional way. It was not as creamy as it should have been and had oregano in it, something you don't do. The oregano overpowered everything. The two who had the Shrimp with 4 cheeses and the Eggplant Parmesan were very pleased. Portion size was very good. Service was excellent. Giovanni was not there, but one of his son's was. Prices were very reasonable.

For 3 people: 3 soups, 3 dinners and 2 drinks and one soft drink was 500 pesos. It got busy after 6 PM. About 5 or 6 tables.

Located in the Rancho del Oro Plaza, opposite end of Tabarka.
