Wish you'd told us a bit sooner. Cooking burgers on the grill right now.
Have fun and let us know what you think of the place.

Re: The Score
The food is OK but we just found out the they don't have a subscription to gt the Vancouver games so they get a big fat FAIL as a "sports bar" in my books!
Re: The Score
What did you eat?
Where the hell is Vancouver? Is that near Saskatchewan?
I slept during Canadian geography.

Re: The Score
Heck Maines, most yankees barely know about anything beyond their own county line so that is no surprise at all. Apparently the owner of this bar went to the same school as you did so he will lose all my business........jajaja.
Re: The Score
Hey, he's a Canuck too. He can't use my excuse. Besides which I know where Vancouver is, it is that other place up there next to Seattle where it rains all the time and people named Canuck Bob run like hell to get away from.

Give him a break. He's the new owner. The folks from Regina went back north. Brandon, the new owner, is a good guy. He can get the TV stuff worked out. I like the pizza and the fish and chips.

Not all yanks are that way....I even know where PEI is and have been to Newfoundland. Actually most of the yanks along the border watch CBC on the cable systems
like you guys watch Detroit and Seattle stations on Shaw. Away from the border you are right.

I also know were Vancouver is located - would love to visit, hear it is beautiful - but too expensive for me now. I've been to Montreal, Toronto and Quebec. Love the Canadian show "Canadian Pickers" on Shaw TV. They travel Canada looking for hidden treasures to sell and it's quite a geography lesson - they show you on a map what area of Canada they are in.

Re: The Score
CB - This Boston yankee loves Canada. Been to Montreal and Toronto 3 or 4 times, Quebec City twice, Vancouver once, New Brunswick and PEI once and Nova Scotia 4 or 5 times.
I really like Toronto when we visit our neighbors here in Mississauga and go to their boat on Victoria Harbor (10,000 islands), so gorgeous. We'll be doing that after we move too and also returning to Ajijic. Also love Nova Scotia, a photographers paradise.

Re: The Score
Flew up Vancouver in the fall once: brought sweaters.....after all, it was North. Arrived on the hottest day of the year after a week of fog. It was soooooo hot that the only coolth was the boat trip to the Buchart gardens. Beautiful area, though. Had good food, too.

Here is a 43 min. video of a Canadian TV (CBC) personality when he is "Talking to Americans."

The video isn't great but the contents are hilarious...

It´s good to know you were just kidding about Vancouver, MC and that explains your otherwise unfathomable inquiry on another forum as to why anyone would want to visit Havana when there is the Riviera Maya within the boundaries of Mexico.
Dawg realizes things have greatly changed in Vancouver since the 1960s when I was there on a "dry" Sunday and couldn´t get a drink in a then physically attractive but depressingly provincial burg since, apparently, grown and developed into a cosmopolitan urban zone of some interest where one can get a drink on a Sunday.
If one must choose between Vancouver and Havana, Havana, where one can always get a mojito 24/7 and tour Old Havana in a rented ´57 Chevy in breezy sunshine before taking a dip in the warm, crystal sea, wins hands down over rainy, often overcast Vancouver, hot rum toddies and swimming in wet suits.
Dawg hopes to visit Havana and several other places in Cuba shortly before they ruin the place by opening it (officially) to U.S. tourists who subsequently overrun the place and it really does begin to resemble the Riviera Maya.

Re: The Score
No Dawg, I asked an honest question about visiting Havana, since I know some who have been there and were not impressed. The answer given is that the historic areas were of primary interest, which makes sense. I doubt the beaches in Cuba are a whole lot different than those on the Mexican Mayan Riviera.
You aren't the only one who has traveled extensively. I'm surprised that anyone would have misinterpreted my teasing CB about Vancouver as ignorance about the place.
