Jajaja.......looks like I received my first photo radar ticket in the mail yesterday. It occurred in Guadalajara. Are we able to pay these locally?

Further to above, mi esposa pointed out that on the back of the ticket there is a bar code and a bunch of bank and store logo's (HSBC, Scotia, 7-11, Oxxo, etc.) so I assume it can be paid at any of these fine establishments. Sound about right?

Don't know if the discount applies to these tickets

Certainly wouldn’t hurt to try. Certainly lots of questions come to mind, please let us know what happens.

Don't you have BC plates? If so, would they be able to even figure out who you are? If you do, some of the more daring folks would probably not pay.

But wait a second, how did you get the ticket, through the mail? If you did they already know where you are and I think you had better pay.

Good luck. Please let us know how much the fine was.

"what did you do to get a ticket ?"

Since the OP stated "photo radar", I will go out on a limb and guess that they are saying that he was speeding?

My husband recently got a big fat ticket for not waiting at the main intersection for both green blinking lights allowing left turns (the Walmart intersection) The cop told him to go in within the next ? few days and he'd only have to pay half price. That would be the Chapala office. He did, and it was okay. We have Jalisco plates........so no hiding there. lol. I don't know how it works elsewhere, but worth finding out, maybe.

You little speed demon, you. Twisted Evil

Yes I have Jalisco plates. I wouldn't drive a foreign plated vehicle here for the reasons being discussed on that other thread.

Anyhow, it was a photo radar ticket taken in north Guadalajara. It can indeed be paid at any of the participating banks and retailers as indicated on the back of the ticket however they need to know how to process it properly. I walk into an Oxxo and they say yes you can pay that here. They scanned it about 20 times before their machine read the code and the amount of $44,504 pesos came up on the screen. We both looked at it and laughed. I grabbed the ticket back and went up the street to 7-11. they took the ticket, went into the computer and brought up a Jalisco Finance screen, scanned the ticket and told me I owed $253 pesos. I paid it and left a happy customer. That would have been $160 CDN up in Vancouver.....jajaja.

I asked because I have NOB plates with no front plate and have sailed though the Periferico trap several times. Also, I haven't updated my title NOB so it's unlikely they'd ever find me, but I wonder if one of those police trucks with multiple armed guys is looking for me.

They take a picture of the back of the vehicle, not the front. This may be one reason why Jalisco seems to be changing the rules for foreign plates.

FAT. 800 pesos. Paid ticket, I think about 400. Won't budge again when those lights aren't both green: one blinking, one solid. News to us, but now we know.

The big problem is that the character behind us will probably rear end us eventually.
Meanwhile, we flash lights. Here's hoping.

That is pretty fat,if they enforced that here in GDL they'd have enough money to repair the baches.

Guad wised up a couple of years ago to foreign-plated vehicles skipping out on parking tickets, so they got a bunch of "Denver Boots" (wheel-clamps.)

According to Intercasa, the cost to convert from NOB plates to Mexico plates is upwards of $2000.00 USD. Spencer please confirm?

There isn't one. Guadalajara. It's a long word and hard to type. At least he didn't say "GDL". Think of the confusion that would cause.
