Interesting new header photo! You must have found a new camera at the "tianguis"?

The old black and white photos have so much character! I love old photographs......

1/chapala pier, back in the day (originals in the history room in Chapala)
2/boats, same era
3/Old Train Station....way back
4)Chapala church.....but the towers don't look the same

Yes, I found these old photos on a website that someone posted the other day. I think they are from the 40's & 50's.

And the last picture of the twin towers does look wrong as currently one tower is higher and wider than the other. They also look closer together. Perhaps one tower was rebuilt? Does anyone know?

If the turismo is still up the stairs just up the sidewalk from the church... they have a full complement of old fotos and I bet they can answer that question. Lizzy

I think they're across the street on the N/W corner of the intersection now. There are lots of photos like that up on the walls. I bet they would know!

I looked through a bunch of old photos and photos that I have and I think what you are seeing is a distortion caused by where the pictures are being taken from? All in the angle?

Don't know and would like to know.......but don't think so. Those towers are different from each other in several ways. Different designs, even.
It's as though an earthquake knocked one down and the next guy wasn't into imitation.
