GBATRUCKS - I think it was a good post to let people know about Liquor stores being closed due to elections, if they're having a party. After all the election is every 6 years and some of us will forget.

If a store sells only liquor they will be closed. Other stores will sell with caution ... at least here in Melaque

Well, it's been awhile since I looked at the stock sheets, but RIM rings a bell. So does Nortel for that matter, which was probably an even worse disappointment. Luckily not to me personally. Didn't RIM scream up on very scanty news at one time? Wasn't it one of the dot b-mbs?

Well, let's see, Nortel is on the pinks now, valued at about 1 cent. Used to be about 180 a share if memory serves. Major scandal over accounting practices.

If I were still into day trading, I'd be looking at what the insiders are doing. Wonder which institutions are holding this trash? If I had a company pension, I'd sure be looking into this one with beady little eyes and a microscope.

RIM has mismanaged themselves into near oblivion. The company owns a lot of very valuable patents but the problem is - other than Apple - any potential take-over bidders are almost in as much trouble as they are and Apple doesn't need to take them over - can get whatever they want from them as the demise continues at fire-sale prices.

Thank God I resisted buying when I was thinking about it. Still carry a Blackberry though.

A most fortunate decision indeed. A better decision is to avoid the markets altogether. JMHO, and yes I have been involved in this over the years. Not on a professional basis, but as an interested bystander and investor. I don't leave stuff to chance, although sometimes things go horribly wrong.
