USA DirecTV lakeside Empty USA DirecTV lakeside

Although by far the English language satellite system that gets the strongest signals lakeside is Shaw Direct and they provide network programming from both the US and Canada, to include my home towns, I would like to know about your luck with US DirecTV. Why? Because I have to pay for TV for my condo in Seattle, whether I’m there or not. Until this month, I had to pay for Comcast Cable. As of the 15th of this month, I have been given the option to subscribe to either Comcast cable or DirecTV . I shall choose DirecTV. Why? Because I can bring one satellite receiver down with me to Ajijic, and using local electronics (LNBs and switch) and my old 2.4 meter (8 Ft) Ku satellite dish, I can get much of the US national programming, not local spot beam programming down here for no additional cost.

Question: For those of you subscribing to US DirecTV. Are you satisfied with the signal quality? Yes I know that even with a 2.4 meter (8 Ft.) satellite dish, should it even threaten to rain you are going to loose your signal. But in general how satisfied are you? Yes, I also know I won’t get my local Seattle Channels because they are on spot beam. Also, what do you know about the DirecTV’s offer to also stream programming to you over the internet?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.
