I thought I noticed a huge difference in price on English muffins... last time I bought a six-pack at WalMart, there were around 40 pesos, yes? And today Lakeside Express just delivered me a bag of 12 "Natural Ovens" English muffins... cost on the bill, $29.15. That's twice as many, better quality, for 25% less. Hmmm.

The ones at Walmart taste like they've been gutted of flavor and frozen for months. I gave up on them some time ago, so thanks for mentioning the alternative.

Oh, so correct. Oddest flavour, like over-frozen.

Consider making your own "english muffins", not very hard, says Mr/Ms Google. Make a large enough batch and freeze some. Then there's crumpets, even easier. Everybody loves a "nice bit of crumpet", jajaja.

At 29 pesos for a dozen English muffins, there is no way in hell I could be convinced to make my own. I would like some crumpets, though.

What's so great about an English muffin?, I asked. Is it the chewy-pully-ness of the thing? Otherwise it's just another piece of bread, right? But then, I never understood the bagel fetish either.

Whoooooops!

Nothing like:
- a toasted English muffin with butter dripping through it's craters
- Eggs Benedict on an English muffin
- ham and melted cheese with a dab of mayo on an English muffin
