Ajijic public works Empty Ajijic public works

From the Ajijic Advisory Committee:

The materials for the public works so far in Ajijic have been donated by the Masons, Shriners and Hash House Harriers. We are about out of cement, lime, gravel, paint and bricks. We have many more handicap ramps, sidewalks, curbs, and potholes to fix / build. In fact, our records show that it takes about 1000 pesos a day to keep the crews working. We are about tapped!

Can you help or know someone who can? Email us at ms1cb@yahoo.com

We fixed our curbs and sidewalks just a while ago. There are two blind couples who walk in our neighborhood and the crumbling sidewalk was a problem for them. It cost next to nothing in materials and the gardener did it.

Check the sidewalks on your street and fix them yourself if you don't want to give money.

We'll go out today and take a look at the street. If it needs work we'll contact Harry and pay the city costs to do whatever is needed.

From the Ajijic Advisory Committee:

Materials for Ajijic

The Delegado advisory committee is pursuing every avenue they can think of. Do you have any suggestions?

Matching grants are very common in Mexico, but, usually for cultural / artistic endeavors

BTW so far this appeal has produced ZERO response. The village has already lost 5 workers and the rest will go back to Chapala once the current materials run out

Many people are away right now. So, it is left to those of us who are here to keep the good work going . We personally made our donation to get the work started almost 100 days ago and we are proud we did. How sad it will be when the travelers come home and find the work stopped, incomplete, as it seems it is always here.

If you can donate for materials there are two ways:

The Ajijic Advisory Committee (gringos helping the Delegado) has a checking account for this purpose at O'Rourke y Associados (O&A) on the corner of the libramiento and the carretera. Ask for Cesar and/or mention "Harry." The purpose is to monitor funds collected and keep track of where they go. The acct number is 5033030.

OR

You can also donate directly to Delegado Hector at his office on the SW corner of the plaza--go inside the door facing the plaza and go upstairs.

Your support is greatly appreciated.
