where to sell foreign plated vehicle

several years ago someone told me if i ever wanted to sell a pickup truck,take it to belize. i just got off the phone with a new vehicle dealer there and THIS IS STILL TRUE! the duty on pickups there to the buyer, is 10% and 45% on other vehicles like suv's and regular cars.
i described my 1988 ford ranger to him,including the mexican style body work and he told me i could get between $2500-3000 usd for it. GASP!
a new ford ranger is about $40,000 cdn.
he suggested that i go to this site:
