Well The Restaurant Swarms have been a great Meet & Greet...

Would there be any interest in a group of us going for A Nite Out At A Concert??

I may be interested in seeing Ringo Starr. Let's talk about it when you are back down.

Let's Go To A Concert Empty Re: Let's Go To A Concert

Geez, Ringo is 4 years older than I am, and I am ancient! I did not realize he was still drumming. In about 1966 I named my cat after Ringo's first wife Cynthia--do you realize how hard it is to go out your door and call "Here Cynthia"??? I do like drummers--they are under-appreciated. As a jazz fan, my top two are Buddy Rich--unbelievably good, better than anyone else I have ever heard--and Louis Belson, who was Pearl Bailey's husband. I would love to go and see Ringo's shit-eating grin! And Roger Hodgson is underappreciated--He is a good man who believes in this music, and all of us ancients have heard the tunes, we just don't know who the heck he is--he must have had a really bad PR crew.

Ringo's first wife was Maureen. John's first wife was Cynthia.

AHA! Thanks. We adopted a stray cat, who had kittens, and they all got named for the wives of the Beatles. Cynthia was the one who did not get adopted by our friends. Ancient history, thanks for straightening me out!

I hate to think of it as "ancient history" but, wow, it's been almost 50 years since that fateful night on Ed Sullivan. Scary!

But I have to smile at the idea of you calling, "Here, Cynthia!" to call in your cat.

John Lennon was once asked if Ringo was the best drummer in England.

His reply was "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles".

I love the guy tho.. great sense of humor and he kept the beat going. Beer

Poor Ringo. He never got no respect!

Did anyone see the SNL (years ago) when Ringo was on? There was a skit where they had an auction and sold "the rubber thingy on the end of Paul McCartney's toothbrush" for, like, $25,000. Then they wheeled out Ringo on a hand truck and went to auction him off but nobody seemed interested.

Nice to know he could laugh at himself like that. Bet he puts on a great show!

Hocks, these events are really fun, especially if you rent a limo for travel to and from the event. Beer  get a group, no parking issues.

Jim.... there is never a parking issue at the Auditorio Telmex, the parking lot holds over 3000 cars. As far as Ringo is concerned i'm not sure. We went to see Paul last Monday in Wpg, 31,000 people and one hell of a show, he sang them all for over 3 hrs. He mentioned John, and George, but not a thing about Ringo.

Jim....you got a point, however if you are going to party at the Telmex you will spend the entire concert in the lobby.
