We have a brand new LDS Family History Center right here in Chapala! The space is small, but the potential benefits to family historians are huge. You can not only receive free assistance, but also access premium genealogy sites such as Ancestry, FindMyPast, MyHeritage and many more. The Center is staffed with both Spanish and English speaking volunteers.

If you are just getting started, or have been researching your family history for years, you are sure to find something you can use. The Center is located in the LDC church located across the Carretera from Mom's and across San Jorge from the new Orma Auto Parts store.

Very nice!  When I come down in May, I was planning on finding out my Father's family history.  He was born in Jalisco, but I've lost all contact with his side of the family.  This looks like a good place to start the journey.  Thank you.

By then we expect to have a microfilm reader and access to a wide variety of Mexican documents, so yes, an excellent place to start.
