Support the Passion

As many of you probably know, one of the pinnacles of the cultural events of the Mexican community here is the three-day presentation of the Passion of Christ over the Easter weekend. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Scenery and costuming is great, the script (in Spanish) is thought provoking, and the players and support team put their whole hearts into it.

This coming Thursday, 2/19, from 3 to  PM,  is one of the major fundraising events for this production. It is a meal and art auction in the gardens of Nueva Posada. The meal is traditional Mexican food prepared by locals involved in the production. I have to admit there were some issues with the food last year (no health problems, just some disappointing fare) but they are working on resolving the issues this year -- this isn't a professional fundraising team, after all. There will also be entertainment and a really impressive art auction.

It's a fun afternoon for 200 pesos, so get some friends together, get your tickets at Nueva Posada or Diane Pearl's, come have fun in a beautiful setting and support an event that is very important to the local community!
