Tianguis

Could someone tell me where the Ajijic and Chapala tianguis set up? Thanks

On Mondays, the Chapala tianguis can be found on the west side of the highway/F. I. Madero in the north side of Chapala, opposite Soriana supermarket. This is the larger of the two and prices and selection are better.
On Wednesdays, the more tourist oriented and more expensive smaller tianguis in Ajijic can be found on a small street running N-S alongside Salvadore‘s restaurant at the east end of a strip mall on the carretera, where there is also a bus stop. There will often be a ‘transito‘ at that intersection on those occasions. You will see rugs hanging for sale at that location, on the south side of the carretera.
There is also a good tianguis in Jocotopec on Thursdays and one in Ixtlahuacan de los membrillos on Sundays.

Thanks RVGringo. I located the Chapala one on Google Maps from your description, but can't nail down the Ajijic one. Maybe a street name or two?

Plaza Bugambillias contains the popular Salvadore‘s Restaurant, which is on the corner of the north end of the tianguis. Look at this site and you will see the strip mall and restaurant, as well as the corner you will be looking for ( I cannot recall the name of the street, but its sign will not be easily found anyway.): http://www.accesslakechapala.com/guide/restaurants/salvadors/

The Ajijic tianguis is on Calle Revolucion.
