pot hole solution ?

I just read where some one who was tired of his town never fixing pot holes that he went around painting giant fluorescent orange dick and balls around the holes ..took the city less than a week to fix them all ....
anyone up for an adventure ...... LOL

Excellent idea--- when do we start!

I have long thought that just spray painting a neon yellow circle around all potholes would, at the very least, alert drivers to their existence. The giant dick might land one in some serious hot water.

Someone was painting the balls and dick on holes in Riberas. Paint just wore off.

It's always been that way. I paid my handy man to repair potholes in my block. The cost was $250 Pesos and well worth it. Businesses on the Carretara could do the same thing.

I guess my question is where does the money from taxes and tourism etc go? Isn't it supposed to go back into the community like road repair etc???

OK ..someone circled the giant pot hole in red paint bu the Montesori school just little east of "Just Chillin "......it's dark and isn't visible .....so I acquired a can of orange and used about half .(doesn't go far ) ....with that freak rain and traffic it's gone
Now a truly dedicated individual has done most of the west end of Ajijic proper ....IN BRIGHT YELLOW PAINT ..HOO Ray .....hats off
but it's wearing off as well ...... "WE" NEED BETTER PAINT

the real purpose of painting the pot holes beyond the safety of the old, the new , and the short sighted drivers , is to SHAME Chapala into fixing them ... they take all our money from Ajijic and spend it on making Chapala "beautiful" instead of fixing our roads ........ you are NOT going to change the driving habits of the Tapitios from Guad on the weekends

I really don't care if Tapitios want to bang through potholes. I am not interested in protecting their oil pans for them.
People who enjoy the privilege of driving should also assume the responsibility of doing so safely, protecting themselves, their cars and others.
It is compassionate of you to take time to mark the potholes offering drivers the best chance of avoiding them. I do not think it will "shame" the administration into repairing the potholes any sooner. It seems to me that late spring is always when road projects are done, just ahead of the rainy season.
FYI: it is my understanding that the Chapala projects were done using Federal grants, not from General funds.

Do they differ much from the driving habits of locals and expats?
Maybe using a better grade of chapopote would help..

in the evening on weekends going home to Guad they are drunker

You are right but 8am heading east into the sun (or night with no street lights) you can't see them. Yep easy to drive around them during the day. Big one under the bridge going to Guad from the road from Ajijic Yikes . Can't see that one its dark under the bridge. At least most are filled on the Guad road. Hit two yesterday and I thought I was pretty good at avoiding I obviously am not.

yesterday , someone put a plastic milk crate in the biggest hole on the carreterra in Ajijic with a pole in it supporting a red mechanic's shop rag
when I came back after lunch , it was gone ..... my impression was that they fixed the roads in late fall , after the rainy season BEFORE the NOBs arrived in the winter ...... in any case, I feel it's dangerous at night when you can't see them no matter how much paint we put on them
