Alan Rickman (professor Snape) died. He was 69. No one played a bad guy better than he did. RIP

You are right. He played an excellent SOB with always the slight suspicion of potential violence.

Yup... the photos of him in real life smiling! were so at odds with his on screen persona that I hardly recognized him! He did what he did...soooo well.
