I was in the homeopathic store on main street in Chapala this week and they carry cannabis sativa and indica in drops. I looked at the girl behind the counter and asked her if it's legal now? She said it must be. I didn't think it was but thought of people I know dealing with cancer and wondered if it'd help a little with the pain? I know they need the oil. I need some oil for some spots on my skin. I tried it last year in the states for 3 days with a bandaid on them. A lot wiped off when I took the bandage off. There just wasn't enough time to finish the job. I need one or two more applications and that's probably it.

Wow, seriously? They  have the oil? If they didn't know if it was legal or not, though, they probably don't know much about the product.

CGringa, what kind of spots on your skin? Do you mean the kind the dermatologists freeze off?

On Aug. 21, 2009, Mexico enacted a "personal use" law that decriminalizes possession of small amounts of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs.

Amounts allowed:
"Personal use" amounts are 5 grams of marijuana (three to six joints, depending on size) and 500 milligrams of cocaine (roughly five doses, or "lines"), as well as small amounts of other drugs.

What do you mean, what happened to this? it exists.

This new proposal is to increase the amounts of personal possession and to make it legal to use medically and scientifically for research.

A rhetorical question I guess. I am just amazed how the legality is not mentioned much.

I have referred to that law on several occasions. I don't think it legalized personal quantities, it decriminalized them meaning the policia can still confiscate but no criminal action. Perhaps Spencer could clarify.

If I had read the OP's link I would not have posted in this thread. The President of Mexico's opinion carries very little weight and I look at it as just political puffing.

It's not the oil, it's just tincture made with alcohol.  Not the same at all.  But for someone who is in pain, it may help.  Very mild though I have to imagine.  I wonder if you cooked the tincture it'd make a drop or two of oil?  That's a thought but not worth it for a drop. lol  

I have very fair skin and there are moles/freckles that I'd like to take off with it, sun damage that I don't want to go any further.  One spot I've had removed at least twice and was hoping the oil would take care of it.  You just put a little tiny dab of cannabis oil, doesn't matter what kind it is, can even be made with the junk stuff, and put a band aid on it.  Change the band aide every three days until it's gone.  It only removes the spots/moles that you don't want and leaves baby soft skin.  Very nice but it sure stinks! lolol

Main street Chapala, I think a few doors down from Taco Chuy.  I've never tried their drops I do know that some drops help with pain depending on the strain etc.  Ya, the problem is knowing what the plant is.  That's the bummer about cannabis.  There's hundreds of strains.  I was writing to someone I consider an expert on medicinal cannabis and was texting them, "which makes you sleepy and which makes you have energy? sativa or indica?  Answer: It depends on how it affects people, generally sativa makes you more sleepy.

There's a few incorrect things in this thread

@ chapalagringa...the opposite is true...Indica makes you more sleepy and sedated and Sativa is more uplifting and energizing.

CBD oil is Cannabidiol oil which is made from hemp and contains no THC. Cannabidiol is a cannabinoid just like THC is...one of up to 80 cannabinoids that can be found in Cannabis. More info here... https://healthyhempoil.com/

Marlowe's had some kind of liquid with Cannabis written on the label. This was maybe 6 month ago.

The topical tincture is available all over Mexico, they've been using it for probably centuries on muscles and joints. Probably works, I dunno.

There are strains out there that are known ratios which is where Leafly is a good source of info...they use Steephill Labs Technology to identify content. There's lots of stuff with high THC but here's some others...

Had an opportunity to talk to a local neurologist/neurosurgeon yesterday on this subject. He had no interest, hadn't done any research on the subject, didn't know about it, felt that it was the smokers that were pushing EPN to legalize medical mj, and said when he had protocols to follow he would.

That "protocols to follow" is a standard answer given by US Drs. to any query about an alternative treatment. So have MX Drs. taken this response?

I know only 2 doctors here that have an interest and believe.

How about this question. . .does anyone know of a medical cannabis clinic, either here or on the west coast of the US, where a woman who lives here could go to get treated with cannabis for her cancer? A real clinic with real doctors etc. Asking for an acquaintance, not for me.

I remember singing this song with these words when I was a kid than some adult figured out what the song actually said and we got new words. In some places Cucaracha also means a pot smoker or it means roach which is the last little part of a joint.
