Info on Dengue Vaccine from LCS newsletter worth reading.

Dengvaxia, the dengue vaccine created by Sanofi Pasteur
Labs, is 90% effective for those aged between 9 and 50 years.
According to research, the vaccine is much less effective over
the age of 50.
The vaccine became available in Mexico September 15, and
will be offered in private health facilities. It is a series of three
shots: an initial shot, another in six months, and the last shot
six months following that one.
Recipients are protected after the first immunization, but
the remaining two must be taken to insure future protection.
Each shot will be approximately $1,500 pesos.
Because of the cost, the average age of most LCS attendees,
and the one-and-a-half-year program, LCS has no plans to make
available this vaccine.

The second time can turn into hemorrhagic dengue which is very bad and sometimes fatal.

yes if you are younger it makes sense to get it as the repeats can be dangerous or fatal.

Hemorrhagic Dengue can be dangerous and even fatal but it is also treatable and survivable. The key to survival is to immediately get to a physician who knows to keep you hydrated. First or second time around, though, is unquestionably horrible.

I still do not know the effectiveness of the vaccine for under 50? Anybody know?

We are offering it at CHAPALA MED. Along with the rest of the recommended vaccines. There's already been a run on the 2016 FLU vaccine.

We'll be getting the vaccine pronto.
