Restaurant Recomendation Needed

I'm looking for recommendations for a better than average restaurant to send a couple to for a nice dinner. The catch is that they must offer gift certificates, and maybe more important actually honor them.

Try reading John's List of Ajijic restaurants at the top of the page.

That's a great list and i had already read it over. It doesn't answer my question about "Gift Certificates" which is actually just as important under the circumstances as the food. I would also like to hear some person current opinions on dining experiences.

You'll have to call the restaurants to ask about Gift Certificates.

There is also the "restaurant reviews" heading at the top of the page, with some of the same and some others not on John's list.

Doesn't look like anyone knows anything about gift certificates...why not go to your favorite and see if they will make you up one?

I avoid going to the north shore as much as possible. To top it off, not wanting to drive home after dark means its been 4 or maybe 5 years since I've had dinner on the north shore. I'm foreseeing a need to buy a nice person who I don't know dinner a gift certificate sounded like the way to go. On to plan B I guess.
