Car rental from Antonio Regalado

Has anyone rented a car from Antonio, I have contacted him and he seems reasonable, says that his cars are insured and that the deductible is $50.00 USD. The other fellow seemed to expensive for me. Any thoughts?

I have never heard of him. Does he have a website or FB page where he lists his cars and prices?

A few months ago he was recommended by someone on Facebook. He has perhaps 4 cars for rent and has posted that on Facebook. I wonder if anyone has had any dealings with him? Hope that I am not setting myself up for disappointment.

Sounds like an unofficial business. Just be sure the insurance is valid and covers friends "borrowing" the vehicle.

If a legitimate source for rental cars is too expensive then you should not be driving here. There are certain levels of auto accidents here that it is preferable not to involve your insurance company. This will be especially tru for you seeing that at the first hint that you have paid to use the vehicle everything insurance related will come to a halt and you and Antonio could be looking at needing lots of cash.

Be more responsible.

I rented from Antonio and I also used his services to help me find a Jeep to purchase.  I do not know about the insurance he may or may not carry but I took the risk.  What I will say is that he has been enormously helpful in every way.  Flat tire on the rental: his associate showed up in 5 minutes. He shepherded me through the cumbersome registration process with my Jeep and even showed up with jumper cables one morning after it had not been started for 2 months and had a dead battery.  I have a lot of respect for him.  Single dad looking out for his customers long after the initial transaction is over.

Where is his office? Car lot? What kinds of cars does he rent and what are the prices?

He works out of his home in Villa Nova. He has a few CRVs and I think I rented a Toyota once. He has a huge Facebook presence including testimonials. Check him out.

Antonio seems very honest and caring. We rented for a week in October. He does not have many vehicles, and we actually used his personal SUV because he was out of other rentals. He was prompt and courteous. He speaks English well and we had good conversation as he drove use to and from the airport. Also his vehicles are well maintained. There was no monkey business about insurance or fuel. We have also rented from Linea and have also been very satisfied. Just my personal experience.

I don't think I've met a Mexican yet that didn't seem honest and caring.

However, what does this mean "There was no monkey business about insurance or fuel."? Does he have insurance? Did you see the policy? Was it in Spanish? Did you read it? Is he covered for an accident for a driver whom he has rented the car to?

I'm not trying to give this man a black eye, he may be a terrific person supplying a valuable need to the community but. . .having a Facebook presence means nothing. Testimonials from starry-eyed newbies mean the same, nothing. Is there a testimonial from someone who did have an accident? If so, how did Antonio and his insurance work out?

Antonio is one of 5 people I now know that are renting out cars including Mark Turford. I have never head of anyone having a problem. I used to rent from Mark regularly. No I was never in an accident.

Mark is a legitimate businessman with a proven track record.

Mark has regular car insurance and tells customers never to mention "rental" if there is a problem. He always told me to say he was my friend and I was using his car. If that has changed I am not aware of it.

I  can vouch for Antonio Regalado. He is legit. Antonio is an honest hardworking single dad who really takes care of his clients. I am a testament to this having rented a couple of times from him.  Papers are signed with insurance included and his price is very reasonable compared to others. Twice I was given a nice and newer model Japanese made cars that were  well maintained..even better than his competitors. He is in the process of acquiring more cars to accommodate the demand.  
I've known him for over a year and in my opinion Antonio Regalado is Lakeside's BEST KEPT SECRET when it comes to car rental.

Some clients of mine coming from the U.S. in a few weeks to close on a house called me today and asked me if I knew about him. (Glad I remembered this thread.) Anybody else have recent experience?

My question is about insurance/legaility/liability. I think I already know the answer. The client is just "borrowing" the car, etc., etc. Adults get to make their own decisions re risk.

From the above, it appears that there is no commercial auto policy involved... Therefore, no coverage for a rental vehicle...

None of the local rentals are legitimate in that regard.

He is legit, (Antonio), he has a website, he has a facebook presence and I know of multiple friends who have rented from him. I and others have also bought a used car from him. He is honest, has great insurance on his rentals and gives excellent customer service. Hope this is helpful.

I rented from Antonio -- he is reliable

I had a small problem w/the car on day 4 and he was right there solving it.

Is the car insured in your name? That would be legitimate. Or are you his 'friend borrowing his car'? That would not be legitimate no matter your presence on FB nor how pretty your website.
