Gaucheria - San Antonio
They've been closed for a while now. Does anybody know if they are just on vacation or when they will reopen?
It is one of our favorite places.

Just walked by, no evidence there was ever a restaurant there.

They were closed last Friday, and again this Thursday.
I like that place. Hope this is just temporary.

There was at least one other time they closed for a time and then reopened. There is hope.

In other words it is now an empty space?

Bob, I couldn't look inside, tinted windows, but no sign I could see on the building or sandwich board out front as usual. All closed up.

As I said, ate there on Mon. of this week at about 2:00 PM. Great tenderloin steaks and some kind of berry and chocolate pie that was outstanding. Several other tables of people there and no indication the place was going out of business.

I just spoke with the owner.
They have been having some issues, and as there are just the two of them they had to close for a few days.
They will be open again tomorrow and will resume normal hours (closed Sunday).
I think I will go there tomorrow for an empanada fix.

Just drove by......sign in the window says open tomorrow Dec 10, from 12noon to 7:00PM.
Confirms what you said.

Great news. I would hate to see it closed and I agree, that chocolate pie with the berries is outstanding. Love the Che-Philly sandwich, too.

Not really, it wasn't a special trip and it was before I read your announcement.
The confirmation was for those "others" (doubters), that read the board.

Across the street from the Corona building in San Antonio. Directly west of Panino's restaurant on the carretera. Before you get to Super Lake on the same side of the street.

Bob, I will never drive my full sized Ford van in that city again. With those parked so close to the intersections, not hitting them is impossible. I finally got to Adelita's Wednesday night for my son's sixteenth birthday celebration. MISTAKE! I will taxi in or walk from the carreterra next time.

I'm always amazed at how well the buses can get around in the village. I ride them every day, and see the 'obstacle course' of cars, trash piles, and other things that they have to drive around. That, and watching out for people waving the bus down, or children and dogs running across the street in front of them. I wouldn't want their job!

Back on topic: Best chicken sandwich, regular chicken and now, a great dessert item made by the lady herself: chocolate raspberry pie. Tender crust. Four of us shared a slice today with four spoons. This is not to be missed.

Had lunch there today. Never tried their desserts before, because I never usually had room, but today I saved half of my Che-Philly to take home so that I had room for their chocolate raspberry pie! Absolutely delicious!
