Truth be known...who's paranoid

I just read on TOB that this board has a secret section privy only to members regarding crime.  One poster commented that it was secret because the board's owner is paranoid.  Well, if I may say so myself because they locked the thread, the board's owner is anything BUT paranoid.  hehe  If ANYONE was paranoid when that secret section was added, it was ME.  I appreciated and still appreciate when CBob set it up because it gave me a place to freak out when things were pretty rough here 5 years ago.  I'd hear a shot in the night and ask if anyone else heard it?  

Why is crime so hush hush on TOB and why a secret section?  Because the realtors and sellers don't feel it's good for business.    After going on 14 years living in Mexico, we're still here through the good, bad and the ugly.  Mostly good though and we have no plans of ever leaving.
Why focus on the bad/crime?  There's too many wonderful reasons to stay that far outweigh the crime.  Life is a lot happier not giving much time for things like that.

Secret section??? It's right there in the open for any member to read. Maybe some of those old farts over there need to check their meds.......??

Yeah, she has a million names and never quits trying but it's always the same old song.  She can't be humiliated in any way because she is mentally numb and not too bright to start with.  The perfect foil for all the conspiracy theorists out there who make a living off that type of willing recipients.

The crime section on here has always been open to anyone who steps up and becomes a member. Crime exists and plenty of it, but the obvious reason the reporting isn't allowed on TOB is simple and logical: This is Mexican Disneyworld and we don't know about any crime here.........so BUY A HOUSE FROM OUR AGENCY! It's their party: they get to make the rules.

The rest of your post I agree with (R.E. business), but there are also the problems of hearsay, rumors, exaggeration, misinformation, etc. etc., that is hard to edit by moderators and seems to cause panic amongst many of the followers of the "crime" threads.  There was a recent report of a home invasion that was completely false.....just to get attention, I guess.
Doesn't bother me but a lot of people have trouble sorting fact from fiction.

You are going to get the "fake news" no matter the medium. I think most of the crime type stuff that gets posted here is vetted fairly well prior to posting cause they know they will be "called out" in no uncertain terms...........MC would call it a "personal attack" whilst I call it "calling BS and the horse it rode in on"........jaja.
