Gasoline prices
I saw on CBC yesterday or the day before that gasoline prices had reached $1.56 per liter in Vancouver.
I know this is not Mexican news but we do have a lot Canadians living here.
Does make the price of premium gasolina here look pretty good at 19+ pesos P/L.

The price of regular unleaded gas at Costco in Oshawa Ontario right now is $1.19 Cdn a litre. Oshawa Gas Prices
$1.19 Cdn equals 16.95 pesos
$1.19 Cdn equals .93 USD.

The downside for people in the Chapala area is......driving to Texas or living in Texas.
Not a fair exchange IMHO.

Re: Gasoline prices
I don't know any expats living around here that drive enough to worry about the price of gas. I know I don't. Even with 5 or 6 trips to the coast every year I have a hard time breaking 7000kms a year.

That's a lot of Km per year. I purchased a 2013 Honda new in April of that year, I am up to over only 16,800 Km and I am here 8 months of the year and I drive most every day to and from Breakfast and lunch.
Oh and when in Seattle my once new 2001 Ford Explorer Sport has 28,940 some miles on it. Oh well

I bought a new car this time last year and only have 4000 km on it and I drive almost everyday. But when your neighborhood is 5 miles long and 1/2 mile wide, you don't burn much fuel.

'Tis true. But some people sure can get steamed.
I never go past half empty which means that I "fill up" every six to eight weeks... The car is ten years old and still only has 49,000 km on it.

Me too, Feret. I fill up every time it gets down to 1/2 full. Yes I am shocked that the price of Magna is so high. I can remember when gas here was cheaper than up north. But as was mentioned above, no big deal. I don't buy that much gas.

Re: Gasoline prices
I recently drove from Suffolk, VA to Jacksonville, FL to look at a condo we are thinking about buying. Gas prices have a wide variation by state, depending on how much tax is added on by the state (assuming federal tax is the same across the U.S.) As of 3/23/2018 we found these ranges (U.S./gal):
VA - 2.37 to .2.47
NC - 2.49 to 2.55
SC - 2.35 to 2.43
FL - 2.39 to 2.50
Florence SC was definitely the place to fuel on the trip, having the lower prices and approximately at the half way point of the trip. NC is the state to avoid fueling in if you can make it through there on a tank of gas.
