Cop Question
So, what do you call cops when you're having a conversation with them? In Spanish, of course. Officer? Señor? What?

"Estimado señor oficial" should be flattering enough to raise his self-esteem to the maximum level of his sense of full authority and impunity.
You will still be scammed, but he will be more cheerful and polite about it.

Re: Cop Question
That's a good one but is there something maybe not so over the top?
I sometimes stop at crashes if I see the ambulance hasn't arrived yet and it looks bad. If I can stop a bleed, open an airway, or immobilize a neck I might be able to save a life without any equipment. And I need to chat briefly with them. So, what's the equivalent of 'officer'?
