Re: snakes
As an FYI, the venom rhyme is not always reliable as per this article:

Re: snakes
I haven't stopped by for a while.
Yer being kinda judgemental on a guy for simply stating he had a snake and his gardener killed it.
I notice most of the snide comments coming from the usual suspects... lol no big surprise.
I probably would have killed it because my wife is afraid of snakes...
Give me your address... I'd happily throw it in your yard.
thanx for the laugh

The same could be said of toddlers who are notorious biters. I am going to play it safe and have my gardeners kill any they see on my property.

Re: snakes
Why is no one mentioning that in some cultures, the consumption of snakes is acceptable, or even considered a delicacy, prized for its alleged pharmaceutical effect of warming the heart. Snake soup of Cantonese cuisine is consumed by local people in autumn, to warm up their body. Western cultures document the consumption of snakes under extreme circumstances of hunger.[96] Cooked rattlesnake meat is an exception, which is commonly consumed in parts of the Midwestern United States. In Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia, drinking the blood of snakes—particularly the cobra—is believed to increase sexual virility. The blood is drained while the cobra is still alive when possible, and is usually mixed with some form of liquor to improve the taste.
In some Asian countries, the use of snakes in alcohol is also accepted. In such cases, the body of a snake or several snakes is left to steep in a jar or container of liquor. It is claimed that this makes the liquor stronger (as well as more expensive). One example of this is the Habu snake sometimes placed in the Okinawan liquor Awamori also known as "Habu Sake".
Check on line the places you can have cooked snake lakeside and/or in Guadalajara.

Pete has asked if can get snake meat substituted for Halibut at the Wed. fish fry.
Snake meat and alcohol?....sounds even better. Distilled venom?

Did you mean kill toddlers or kill snakes?

I facetiously meant toddlers.

I don’t live in a “compound.” But, luckily I have a high wall and the only thing coming over it has been soccer balls. The kids coming to retrieve them don’t look like they bite though, so they’re safe.

Re: snakes
Hello Doc, that is a Chapala Milksnake; it mimics the venomous Coral Snake, but it is harmless... Where about did you find it?

Hello Doc, I am participating in a project to find out if the Chapala Milksnake belongs to the Jalisco Milksnake or it is actually a subspecies new to science. Will you give us approximate location of the finding? I would appreciate it!!
