Hurricane Willa-keep a watch on it

Hurricane Willa is a cat 2 storm, expected to become a cat 4 to enter Mexico between PV and Mazatlan passing north of Guadalajara and going into Texas. We will be on the right/strong side of the storm and may get winds and a lot of rain. Prepare. This is a big storm and cat 4 is pretty bad. We could lose power for a while.

She will probably dissipate a lot when she hits land, like most hurricanes here. But we will probably get the fall-out rain and some wind.

Yes, we will be on the right/strong side of the storm. Keep our fingers crossed. Hope CFE is watching this !!

When do you think we might expect to start experiencing this?

I've see the weather sites etc and am watching Protección Civil out at the coast but it looks like Wed to me. . .for us, I mean.

It looks like Vicente will form up with Willa tomorrow and proceed north and east and come ashore closer to Mazatlan Wed AM.

Great. I'm starting my drive south Tuesday. Hopefully it will all have passed by the time I make Texas.

Tropical storm warnings ranged from Playa Perula north to San Blas and from Mazatlan north to Bahia Tempehuaya. The center said Willa is expected make landfall late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The Latest on Hurricane Willa and other storms (all times local):

9:50 a.m.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Willa has grown into a potentially catastrophic Category 5 storm on a track toward the Mexican coast south of Mazatlan.

Willa has maximum sustained winds of 160 mph (260 kph), though it’s projected to weaken somewhat before hitting land late Tuesday. It is still likely to be an extremely dangerous hurricane when it hits.

Dont recall a category 5 in some time.
