Ajijic electronics location

Does anyone know where Ajijic Electronics and Mike Merryman are located? They don't answer their phone or e mails. Google maps gives 2 different locations for them on Hidalgo in San Antonio and Las Flores in Ajijic.

They are closed for lunch for 2-3 hours daily from 2 p.m.

Alternatively, I think that's them in that tiny space between Farmacia Xpress and OXXO in SAT.

The place in SAT is a different company. Satellite Electronics does take a long lunchbreak starting at about 2 PM. I have always been able to reach them at 766-1117.

And, yes, they are in West Ajijic near the French Bakery

No, that is a repair shop owned by Roberto del Villar.
I guess you could call the Carretera there Hidalgo, as they do so in Riberas del P.
Merryman has been off work due to a motorcycle accident. I think he is, or will be back this week.
The office took a 3 day puente this week.

Yes, Mike is back at work now. On a different note I found out what has to be done about the message on Shaw that says you need to update the dish. The LNBs need to be updated in the next while or you will lose some channels.

Yes but Mike said you have to do it. They can tell if you haven't done it and they will cut you off. Who knows?

I am not upgrading the LNB. I seriously doubt they will cut me off as that just doesn't make sense to me. Why would they care if I get all the channels as long as the bill is paid? Time will tell if I am right or if I am wrong.

They won't cut any paying customer off for not upgrading the LNB They could care less whether you receive all the channels or not..

Here is how to check your LNB for those that are curious:

To determine whether you have access to all three satellites, go to your satellite receiver and press GUIDE and then 988. The message on channel 988 will tell you whether:
You’re “all set” (with existing access to all three satellites and an MPEG-4 satellite receiver)
You require a dish upgrade (in order to gain access to the third satellite)
You have a newer dish but require a receiver upgrade (to an MPEG-4 model)
You require both a dish upgrade and a receiver upgrade.
If you see a message indicating an upgrade is required, contact us to learn about the available upgrade offers.

I did check and it says I need an equipment upgrade in order to receive the new satellite channels but since that won't actually help me access more channels I am not going to do it.

Mine says good to go so I have the newer LNB. I believe I get way more HD channels now than I did a month ago. Throw a few HD channel numbers at me that you don't get and I'll see if I get them?

68, 110, 138 (Classic lineup). Have no idea what they were before the message appeared for each one.

I get all three of those channels in both SD and HD.

So how does Shaw know you don't have the correct LNB? Is it the "Map Status" in your receiver configurations?

The LNB probably has a signature that they can detect. They know when you have a box hooked up to a different dish than your main account dish.

I don't get 68 anymore either but not really important and I have no idea what is even on the other two channels. So far I have not lost any channels I watch.

I'm up North just south of Vancouver near Seattle. I updated my LNB at the cottage on Van Island last summer. And it said I needed a newer 60E satellite dish, something I will worry about next summer. The system still worked with the old satellite dish. But certain channels were not there and what I saw was a screen on those channels stating that I needed a newer small 60E dish.

Here, near Seattle, my condo provides my programming via DirecTV
