The copter looked like it was right in the homes when it filled. They took the water to the big fire as I watched the small ones on the lakeside of the mountains grow. (I'm not that bored, but the car was getting washed at the Mall)

They are filling the water bomber bags from the lake!

The smell of smoke is very noticeable in Upper CV. My sinuses are shot. Anyone else being bothered?

No, can't smell it down here below you. Have you got the house closed up tight? Is the fire close above you?

The fire looks a little better now, stiil dangerous, water drops helped but don't think they are still flying. Packed a go-bag, big fiesta in front of my house tonight, got the car out in case, plan to go east if decends to the lower ridge.

Don't you live in SAT centro??

I was in Seattle and Vancouver two summers ago and you couldn't see across the street from all the smoke from the forest fires from Oregon to BC. These dry scrub mountain's may burn fast but not long.

Just stepped out the front door 6:30AM here at Ciela Vista, no fires in sight and we were right below 2 or 3 of them yesterday, smell of smoke in the air but no flames to be seen. Progress !

They are collecting money today at the LCS for equipment and supplies for the bomberos. Mark, who runs the restaurant there is spearheading this. I understand the state donated the helicopters and pilots but not the fuel. That's why there are minimal flights. I have offered to pilot our large survey drone if they require an reconnaissance from the air to look for hotspots.
